Our flagship hotel restaurant, with its AA-rosette status and awesome views of the beach, has all the glamour of the 1930s with original art deco chandeliers. Imagine dining by twinkling candlelight in this gorgeous setting. Or on a fine evening, dine outside on the terrace and watch the sun set over Lundy Island as you savour your meal.

Expect the finest contemporary cuisine, for which we have been awarded an AA rosette and created using fresh local produce wherever possible.  Our exciting menu from our innovative head chef, Jamie Coleman, (who recently made the quarterfinals on BBC MasterChef) and his brigade of experienced chefs take the best local produce to create contemporary dining, that’s served in style. 

You’ll enjoy the wine list too, and our special selection which has been created by Susy Atkins, the wine expert from The Sunday Telegraph’s Stella magazine and BBC Saturday Kitchen.

The Dining Room Dinner Menu

After some wonderful suggestions from our guests we’ve decided to return to our roots and embrace the deco nature of the restaurant and create a smart but more relaxed dining experience.

The Dining Room at Saunton introduces some classic British dishes such as grilled dover sole and our ‘out of this world’ Exmoor steaks from Waytown and Holdstone Farms. The feel of the Dining Room at Saunton is intimate and pleasurable in a relaxed way.

Our Dining Room is open for dinner 5pm - 9.30pm. It is advisable to book, please contact reception to make your reservation. 

Dressing for dinner is all part of the Saunton Sands experience,  but we don't expect you to go to extremes.  From 6.30pm smart dress is required for dinner, in other words we don't allow sportswear, collarless shirts, shorts, trainers to be worn please.  Smart jeans may now been worn.

Our children's menu is served from 12pm-9pm and parents are welcome to dine with their children in our Dining Room.

Don't forget during school holidays and every Saturday throughout the year we have a children's entertainers at 6pm.

Wine List

Susi Atkins, a familiar face of Saturday Morning Kitchen has worked closely with Saunton Sands Hotel to develop their new wine list, adding a cocktail of delicious wines to our core list.  They provide a fine and appealing range of styles, both modern and traditional and Susy's lively and informative tasting notes will help our diners with their choices.
