The Great Escape

Pack up your old kit bag and join us for an entertaining walking break with some authentic American military history thrown in.

Experienced walking guide John Ward of Exploring North Devon and Exmoor has been walking and running the trails of North Devon, Exmoor and the South West Coast Path for over 30 years, 'and I continue to be totally inspired by it,' he says. Let the native North Devonian be your guide as he reveals some insider's finds in the stunning UNESCO BIOSPHERE.

Our four-day break includes a day exploring Saunton Beach and Braunton Burrows on the trail of a Matilda tank – an almost hidden relic left over from the days when the Burrows were used as an extensive US Army WWII training area.  A second day of exploring will be a trip to Exmoor, we'll provide the postcode and meeting point details and John will meet you there.

The break will also include packed lunches both days and one 30 minute Sole Energiser leg and foot treatment per person with our spa team to help you feel fabulous at the end of a day's explorations.
